Motorcycle or scooter? That's the first question that comes to mind when looking at Yamaha's all-new RW range, unveiled at EICMA 2026. Three models — RW700, RW700 Explore and RW350 — designed to bridge two seemingly different worlds: scooter comfort and adventure motorcycle capabilities.

At the heart of the RW700 is the familiar 689cc CP2 twin-cylinder engine, shared with the Ténéré 700, paired with the Y-AMT automated transmission, featuring dedicated off-road settings. The equipment includes a six-axis IMU, long-travel suspension, tubeless spoked wheels and Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires. There's also an accessible 810 mm seat height and practical underseat storage capable of accommodating a full-face helmet, depending on its size.

The premium RW700 Explore adds adjustable front suspension, heated grips and seat, backlit handlebar controls and a center stand. Wet weight is 224 kg, compared with 221 kg for the standard version.

Completing the range is the RW350, powered by an all-new 327cc single-cylinder engine producing approximately 29 hp, paired with a CVT transmission. Its standout feature is Yamaha Dynamic Ride, which uses a rigidly mounted engine and a separate swinging transmission unit. It weighs 192 kg ready to ride and offers an impressive 185 mm of ground clearance.

The new models are expected to arrive in spring 2027. But one question remains: how will these adventure scooters perform when the asphalt ends? We can't wait to find out with a proper road and off-road test.
