We went to spy on LOKA#55's ‘home’ training session...
In Curno, in the province of Bergamo, the official Yamaha Superbike rider trains with a mini-bike.
Amidst the roar of engines at the Orobikart track, just a few kilometres from home, Andrea Locatelli talks about his off-season routine: ‘Motorsport today is physically extreme,’ he explains, and with only ten days of official testing, alternative training becomes essential.
Mini-motorbikes on short tracks and ‘stop&go’ for grip and concentration, cardio and strength training in the gym to withstand stress and speed. The bike used by the Bergamo native is a refined 12": adjustable footpegs, suspension levers, variable headstock, offset with bushings, double disc and telemetry developed with the Vircos/Virale team, a true laboratory for testing set-ups and sensitivity.
