Triumph Speed 400 e Scrambler 400 X
Revolution from below
Two medium-displacement machines dedicated to a new generation of motorbike enthusiasts.
The Modern Classics range is enriched with two new models: the Triumph Speed 400 and the Triumph Scrambler 400 X. The British manufacturer's aim: to bring build quality, style and attention to detail into a highly price-competitive segment.
Two medium-displacement machines dedicated to a new generation of motorbike enthusiasts: the Speed 400 joins the Speed Twin 900 and 1200 roadsters, while the Scrambler 400 X will be the entry level of the Scrambler family with its bigger sisters the Scrambler 900 and 1200.
These are completely new designs and developed around a new powertrain: the new 398 cc single-cylinder engine with liquid cooling, DOHC 4-valve DOHC timing system actuated by finger-actuated rocker arms with DLC treatment that helps to reduce friction values.
Power of 40 hp and maximum torque of 37.5 Nm guarantee performance in line with the small displacement.
The single-cylinder engine aims to deliver class-leading performance with a brilliant, responsive and torque-rich personality, all with a captivating exhaust sound.
Reduced displacement and power, a simple and friendly 'slim' chassis, which combined with a seat height of 790mm and 835mm respectively and a weight of 170kg / 179kg, make the two Triumphs...easy.
Traction Control and ABS are standard, with the former switchable off on the Scrambler for light off-road riding.
There is a wide range of accessories available for the two small bikes, in keeping with Triumph tradition.
Interesting attention has also been paid to running costs and, consequently, the maintenance intervals of every 16,000 kilometres.
