Travelling around the world on a motorbike, with a spare leg. The story of Daniele Infante
We tell you the story of a passionate motorcyclist and traveller, who embarked on his dream trip to Mongolia with his V-Strom and a prosthesis tied to his motorbike panniers. It was a far from easy journey, but yes, it was worth it
Crazy journeys and motorbike experiences fascinate everyone. For many, the quintessential motorbike trip is the North Cape, for others the American coast-to-coast and then there is Daniele Infante, a motorbike-travelling engineer, who has always had a thing for Mongolia.
Let's take a step back though. Daniele has always been a motorcyclist, initially as a sportsman, then as a high-handlebar rider, but following a motorbike accident, after years of suffering, he had his right leg amputated, just above the knee. The trauma was severe, but his desire to get back on the bike and his innate curiosity got the better of him.
Riding a motorbike 'simply' was not enough for Daniele, hence the desire to put himself - once again - on the line for the longest and toughest journey of his life: Mongolia. Thus was born Leg in Bag, Daniele Infante's adventure, which is told to us in part in this episode of Motofestival. From the difficult moments to the great satisfactions to his way of conceiving the motorbike.
