What a story. It all began with his father, Stefano, who put him in a go-kart at just four and a half years old. Then came Pietro's “protest” and his first mini bike at the age of five, followed by minicross racing when he was ten. At around thirteen, he made the switch to Mini Enduro.

In both 2024 and 2025, he had to settle for the bottom step of the World Championship podium. At the end of 2025, in Germany, he came agonizingly close: a double victory at Zschopau, but the title slipped away by just a few heartbreaking points. That kind of defeat either breaks you or makes you stronger. Scardina chose the latter.

2026 was the breakthrough year, and a key part of the story was his move to Jarno Boano's TM team. The season wasn't perfect (and we'll find out why, or rather, he'll tell us himself): a retirement in Finland, followed by the response of a true champion. Race after race, Scardina built a lead that nobody could close. His second-place finish on Saturday in Wales, behind French rider Mersin, mathematically secured him the World Championship title.

The crowning glory of an already triumphant season could have been another victory, this time at the International Six Days of Enduro in Grândola, Portugal. Instead, human imperfection intervened, along with a mechanical failure. Well, never mind. There will be other days, other Six Days.

Pietro Scardina is reserved, polite and measured. In a word, unassuming. But once he gets on a motorcycle, he becomes virtually unstoppable (something his father learned the hard way early on, although today he couldn't be prouder).

This is also a family victory, a team victory, and a triumph for a remarkable young man from Tuscany, the land of the historic Grand Duchy. Siena and Sovicille are celebrating.

In 2027, Scardina will move up from the Youth to the Junior category. His story is only just beginning.
