Marco Aurelio Fontana, from MTB to enduro
Marco Aurelio Fontana has recently realised a dream: to take part in the International Six Days Enduro. He has also realised the "forbidden" extension of that dream: to be able to finish it. And now?
For an Olympic medallist and World Champion, with strictly muscular propulsion, it was a real feat.
The bike, however, is often a dream and also a forbidden fruit, if you are a professional and are bound by the priorities of another discipline. So the bike becomes a slightly clandestine object of desire, an appointment put off, sometimes for a long time.
Today Marco Aurelio Fontana "can" ride a motorbike and live a new and ancient passion. We asked ourselves how a champion can live this new freedom, how to interpret its ways and purposes. We imagined Marco Aurelio's "triple motorcycling life" and asked him three questions point-blank.
What is motorcycling, what was it when it was 'forbidden' and now that it is 'free', how is it possible for a winning sportsman to live it, and whether he projects himself into a future that is once again adventurous and competitive. Naturally, we expected some emotion and the acute sensitivity of a great person!
