Kiara Fontanesi: "How nice the electric in off-road two-wheeler"
Kiara Fontanesi is our off-road, female motocross heroine. Now she is also the forerunner of a realised idea of the Electric World Cup
We are sure that Kiara Fontanesi is not only a well-known figure to motocross fans. Kiara (also with a 'K' in her name) is our indomitable MX Champion. Above all, unstoppable. At one point we said: 'Enough, she's arrived, now it's the family's turn! The union, motherhood, the unbreakable commitment. For a while, Kiara disappeared from the chronicles of our passion.
Then one day, on a tour of Sardinia and Extreme E, a series that makes the electric, the responsible and the sustainable on 4 wheels a flag that is catching more and more wind, we meet on the track of a concurrent and converging event, motorbikes. We discover at the bottom of Capo Teulada the FIM E-Xplorer World Cup, the international all-terrain electric championship. The formula is inspired by Alejandro Agag's Extreme E, team of two, one man and one woman, volley of batteries, semi-finals and finals, progressively consistent scores.
Kiara Fontanesi was called up when the season was underway. She approached, she snooped, she joined in. She thinks it's a great idea, this year despite the fewer races she came within a whisker of the title and will try again next year. in the meantime she explains how it works.
