Iannone what title would you give to your comeback? "Break a leg Andrea"
The rider, after four years of disqualification for doping, starts again in 2024 in the Superbike World Championship: 'In Jerez I felt like a rider again'
A tone or two below enthusiastic, “down-to-earth” because “I haven't raced for four years anyway”. Andrea Iannone met with journalists in a Milanese restaurant and, after a light lunch, risotto Milanese style as the first course and then branzino with vegetables and roast potatoes, he went through a series of one-to-one interviews.
Iannone appeared happy to be back on the bike: "On the first lap I felt like a kid who had pulled a prank. At the same time he faced the press by staying away from proclamations, trying only to enjoy the bike: Jerez leaves me with the pleasure of riding a race bike again, sensations that only you can experience this way".
On the first day of testing and the return to the bike: "I felt I had regained automatism, I was starting to feel like a rider again, at 11 and 12, fast corners, I said cool!, I felt I had done it right, fast, I was gassed, what a ride! I was really enjoying myself!".
In these four years have you always thought about coming back? "I've never had a fixed mind... I've never said I'll never come back or come back. It's something that came naturally. I don't like to pressure things, I like things to happen naturally. That's how it was.
