Honda NT1100
Tourism by sport
An unprecedented exponent in the tourer world. Original in its concept, in its forms and ready to grind out miles in comfort. The designer, Maurizio Carbonara, tells us about its style and Costantino Paolacci about its positioning.
It is a bike that was missing from Honda's range of models and meets a widespread demand for touring bikes with a high compromise between comfort, performance, rideability and price.
The Honda NT1100 has been defined as a Touring crossover, different in fact from the Crossover genre, as well as from the Sport touring or Maxi enduro genres compared to which it offers greater comfort for rider and passenger, a seat that is less high from the ground and a manoeuvrability that Granturismo cannot offer.
In short, you get the idea, it's an all-round tourer that can also handle chaotic traffic, it's suitable for riders of all sizes and offers a wealth of standard equipment: hard side bags, heated grips, cruise control, adjustable windscreen and centre stand.
The technical soul is that of the well-known and popular Africa Twin 1100, from which they derive the 102-horsepower twin-cylinder engine, the frame and much of the electronic equipment. The rest of the chassis is pure road bike, starting with the size of the wheels.
