Honda CB1000 Hornet
the hornet flies again
Big news from Honda, the Hornet 1000 is back from mid-2024: it is not a supernaked bike but the bike the market has been waiting for
At the EICMA '23 exhibition, among the many new products that the Honda brand was able to present was a model with truly interesting contents. On the strength of a history spanning more than twenty years, the Hornet series has won the favour of a wide audience of enthusiasts. Initially in 600 cc displacement only, then, in 2002, Honda also presented the version with the 893 cc engine derived from the CBR 900 RR.
The successful Hornet series today continues the tradition and puts the new Hornet 1000 on the plate. Attractive design and venomous, the 'Hornet' will be capable of a power output of over 150hp and torque in excess of 100Nm, not bad indeed. Final figures are not yet available and the bike will be at the Honda sales network in about mid-2024. The chassis is based on a modern steel frame, aluminium alloy swingarm and Showa suspension. There is no lack of a full electronics package. Apparently there will be fun to be had.
