A journey through the history of motorcycle racing, featuring some of the most important and fascinating machines ever built. We're in Geneva, visiting the FIM Racing Motorcycle Museum, inaugurated in December 2025 to celebrate more than a century of motorcycle competition.

Our guide is Fabio Muner, the Federation's Marketing Director, who takes us through the museum's seven themed exhibition areas. The permanent collection features around 44 motorcycles, complemented by temporary exhibitions dedicated to different racing disciplines.

Among the highlights are Leslie Graham's AJS Porcupine, winner of the inaugural 500cc World Championship in 1949, the extraordinary six-cylinder Honda 250, Giacomo Agostini's MV Agusta, the Yamaha M1 that carried Valentino Rossi to victory on his Yamaha debut in 2004, and Marco Simoncelli's 2008 World Championship-winning Gilera RSA 250.

Off-road racing also takes center stage, with legendary Dakar Rally machines, motocross bikes raced by Stefan Everts and Tony Cairoli, speedway prototypes, trials champions and Ducati's electric MotoE motorcycle.

But the museum offers much more than a collection of historic racing bikes. Interactive installations explore the evolution of technology, electronics and safety, demonstrating how racing innovations have shaped the motorcycles we ride on the road today.

More than just a museum visit, it's an immersive journey into the culture, engineering and passion that have shaped motorcycle racing history.
