Brembo Braking Masterpieces. From MotoGP to Superbike
Lighter calipers, advanced heat-dissipating discs and new carbon-ceramic technology for Superbike. At EICMA 2026, Brembo showcases its latest racing innovations, where every gram and every detail make a difference
At Brembo proves that racing technology can also be a work of art. Pierangelo Gherardi takes us through the latest developments in braking systems designed for the highest levels of motorcycle racing.
The latest MotoGP brake caliper combines exceptional rigidity with reduced weight, thanks to sophisticated machining that removes unnecessary material while maintaining structural performance.
Paired with a finned brake disc for improved heat dissipation and an optimized magnesium wheel, the system pushes braking performance even further. Also on display is an AP Racing clutch, used by most MotoGP teams.
For 2027, Brembo introduces a major innovation for Superbike racing: a new carbon-ceramic braking solution.
Unlike MotoGP carbon discs, which can reach temperatures of up to 900°C, the new system is designed for the lower operating temperatures typical of Superbike racing.
The package includes a lightweight, billet-machined caliper featuring cooling fins, with technology closely related to that found on the Ducati Superleggera.
These are more than just racing components: they are mechanical masterpieces, demonstrating Brembo's relentless pursuit of braking perfection.
