BMW's return to the world of custom, in 2020, was a momentous event, which obviously required an equally momentous engine. The 1800cc "Big boxer" was certainly up to the situation, and the first R18 did not disappoint expectations at all, with lines that perfectly mix custom stylistic elements with those deeply linked to BMW history.

But the R18 Classic was only the first of the motorcycles that Munich created on the cyclopic twin-cylinder opposed. After it came, practically immediately, the Classic, the "B" - Bagger - and the Transcontinental. Four models, four souls - or soul fuel, as BMW likes to say - very different.
