Andrea Scanzi: "Motorcycling is the only thing that clears my mind"
Journalist, author, television personality and passionate music lover. But Andrea Scanzi is also a devoted motorcyclist who has found in riding a way to escape the noise of everyday life. In an interview with Moto.it, he talks about a passion that started relatively late, around the age of forty, and has since become essential to his life.
"It's the only thing that completely clears my mind," Scanzi explains. Today, he owns four motorcycles, each with its own name: two Harley-Davidsons, an Indian and a Ducati Scrambler. His ideal escape? Riding for seven or eight hours without a destination, with his phone switched off.
The conversation also revisits his years as a MotoGP reporter, when he spent time with Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner and Marco Simoncelli. His memories of Sic provide one of the interview's most emotional moments, combining personal anecdotes with the sadness he still feels over the rider's death.
Looking ahead, Scanzi talks about his dream of riding through Patagonia and his desire to gradually step away from the public spotlight. One thing, however, is certain: motorcycling will be the last passion he gives up.
