All the secrets of the e-clutch
How does it work? How is it different from the DCT? On which models can it be fitted? The answer to every question about the e-clutch!
Among the many innovations presented by Honda in this late 2023, one promises to make driving even easier and more enjoyable without giving up that taste for changing gears whenever you want. It is called the e-clutch and is a compact and lightweight technical solution that allows us not to use the clutch lever either when starting or changing gears.
This makes it easier to start and quicker to change gears, but at the same time it does not remove the clutch lever, allowing us to change gears in the 'traditional' way when we want to.
Beyond how it works, however, we want to understand how it is made and on which engines Honda has decided to offer it to its customers, starting with the revamped four-cylinder 650 of the CB650R and CBR650R. We therefore talk about it with Costantino Paolacci, Communication Manager of the Italian branch, to whom we address all our curiosities.
