Alessandro, The Great. Botturi!
‘T7', and when the desire to ride a motorbike “keeps” the pleasure
The Giant of Lumezzane is a figure in his own right in the wide panorama of off-road racing. Starting from... Rugby and moving on from motocross, Alessandro Botturi has lived and is living through memorable eras and eras of Enduro, Italian, World, 6 Days International Enduro, and Rallies, Dakar, Greece, Africa Eco Race, which is the intriguing actuality, the exciting reality of these years that see Botturi at the centre of history.
It must be known, in fact, that the idea of evolving the Yamaha Ténéré 700 into what is now the Moto-ride of a very strong sporting, image and commercial trend, is Alessandro Botturi's. It was he who, on his own initiative, took the motorbike and started to intervene with an idea. The concept was to bring a realistic evocation of the legendary two-cylinder bikes of the 80s and 90s back to the race tracks, the Rally-Raid.
Let's skip the whole story, because he tells it to us, today that bike is the symbol of the rebirth of the concept, and the birth of a new form of participation. The Ténéré, the ‘T7’ for friends, is the bike that dug a furrow, in which today other manufacturers and names are sowing their seeds. It is an extraordinary success, born at Garage Botturi. The rest is just passion!
