Tucano Urbano Hydro Pro Scud: extreme test
A Milanese delivery rider delivers pizzas in the pouring rain to test the new Hydroscud rain suit
Tucano Urbano raises the bar for waterproofing with the new Hydro Pro Scud, a suit that reaches 20,000 mm of water resistance while maintaining breathability. To test it, Moto.it chose the most realistic stress test: a Milanese rider delivering pizzas in the pouring rain.
The jacket impresses with its ergonomics and construction: three-layer structure with water-resistant treatment, taped seams including the collar, adjustments at the waist, arms and wrists. ‘Double water trap on the main zip and internal pocket for valuables,’ explains the tester. ‘It feels extremely comfortable to wear and is well designed to be worn over casual clothes.’
The trousers impress with their ergonomic fit around the knees: ‘They move with you without causing any discomfort. They feature a band at the crotch, a seamless construction at the front and back, and a high elasticated waistband with adjustment.’ Compliant with EN343:2019.
The accessories make the difference: waterproof overgloves to wear over your usual gloves and ‘exceptional footwear that completely prevents water from entering, even with loafers’.
The verdict after hours of rain? ‘Always dry, no internal moisture. The breathability really works.’
