Time travel on a Vespa

Time travel on a Vespa

In a hidden corner of Milan, between industrial design and modern charm, there is a place that smells of gasoline, history, and uniqueness. It's called My Vintage, and it's much more than just an event location: it's a real treasure trove of emotions on two (and three) wheels, a story made of metal bodies, memories, and true passion.

It is here that we met a passionate collector of Vespas (but not only), who opened the doors to his world, telling us the story of the legendary Vespa Piaggio and many unique stories behind some of the models in his private collection.

Stefano Biffi begins by telling us about the origins: from 1946, when the first Vespa saw the light of day as Italy's response to the need for mobility in the post-war period. From a practical object to a symbol of style, from an economical means of transport to a global icon, it has never stopped evolving, while always keeping its soul intact.

Through the voice of our guest, we retrace decades of history through technical innovations, design choices, and revolutions. Stefano has chosen for us some pieces that not only have a technical history, but also a personal one: the owners, their families, and the use they made of their beloved scooters.

They are all there, perfectly preserved: the one for skiing, the one for competitions of the time, and the one for modern re-enactments. And then there is the Vespa U, which stands for utilitaria (utility vehicle), produced only for a short period and which at My Vintage even boasts a very rare sidecar.

Each model has a voice, a soul, a life trajectory that is intertwined with the history of Italy, with fashions, with the roads traveled. Looking at them closely and listening to their stories is like taking a journey through time, but also into the passion of those who loved, saved, and then carefully preserved them.

Our tour continues with another Piaggio icon: the Ape, the small three-wheeled commercial vehicle that has been moving Italy's workforce for over seventy years. In the final part of the video, we will see three special editions of the Ape and discover what each one was used for.

A stroll among the jewels of My Vintage is a real lesson in the history of Italian motorcycling, but... watch out, because among the many Vespas there are also some really nice historic motorcycle models.
