Previewed at EICMA 2024, the new Hyperlink represents the meeting point between safety and practicality, designed for those who live the city every day on two wheels. The P/J ECE 22.06 homologation guarantees the highest safety standards, but it is in the removable chin guard that hides the true urban DNA of this helmet. ‘Our Hyperlink can be easily stored in the saddlebag or top box, even together with another helmet,’ explains Florian Martin, marketing director of the Mandelli Group, to which Tucano Urbano belongs.
The removable chin guard, therefore, as an answer to the concrete need of those who use two-wheelers in the city: to be able to manage the helmet when you are at your destination, without compromising on safety. But on Hyperlink it is not just the chin guard that makes the difference. The visor, in fact, has a width that is out of the ordinary for an urban helmet: 230° horizontally and 105° vertically. Numbers that might not say much on paper, but which on the saddle translate into total visibility of the surrounding environment. ‘Dangers are always lurking in the city,’ Florian reminds us, ’so we wanted the view to be as wide as possible.
Also of great importance for city traffic is the ability to communicate easily, perhaps between appointments. The standard version of Hyperlink comes with Bluetooth by MIDLAND® (€199.99) and is complemented by the one with integrated SMARTCOM intercom (€299.99). The noise-cancelling technology, they assure us, allows crystal-clear conversations even in the chaos of city traffic.
And the colours? Here, too, Tucano Urbano wanted to do things differently. Black and grey, classic colours of the motorcycling world, are reinterpreted in a contemporary key: Matt Black, Matt Light Grey and Glossy Nardo Grey for the standard version, while those who choose the integrated intercom can have it only in Matt Black. Shades that might seem conventional, but in person reveal nuances and finishes designed to stand out in the urban context.
Not just a new product, then, but a different way of thinking about protection in the urban environment. An approach that focuses on the real needs of those who live the city on motorbikes or scooters, without compromising between safety and practicality. And perhaps this is precisely the secret of Tucano Urbano's success: knowing how to read the city and translate it into products that make it more liveable.
