Stefano Berardino: when a passion for motors becomes art
In his studio on Lake Orta, Stefano Berardino tells Moto.it how he transforms legendary cars and motorcycles into works of art
Motorcycles are more than just a means of transportation: they are also objects capable of telling stories, capturing emotions and representing entire eras. Stefano Berardino, an artist specializing in Motoring Art, knows this particularly well. We met him at his studio in Orta San Giulio.
Born into a family of artists, Berardino has turned his childhood passion for motors into a profession. His works combine painting, palette knife techniques and unusual materials, such as jute canvas and sand, to create richly textured surfaces reminiscent of traditional frescoes.
His paintings mainly celebrate the icons of Italian motorcycling and automotive history. His work also involves extensive historical research, with particular attention to original bodywork colors and the distinctive details that make each model instantly recognizable.
And what does the future hold? A new studio that will bring together his greatest passions: painting, motors and music, including his special connection to the church organ. Because, as he sees it, art is above all a matter of passion.
