he Superbike champion opens up to Moto.it, revealing a previously untold story about his collision with Marc Marquez at WDW 2024. From record-breaking WorldSBK performances to the new 850cc MotoGP era, Bagnaia, Toprak and the secrets of racing at 340 km/h
Nicolò Bulega holds nothing back in this exclusive interview with Moto.it. Following a remarkable 2026 season that he describes as “unrepeatable,” the Italian rider reflects on his Superbike records, his MotoGP future and the legendary riders who have inspired him.
But the biggest revelation concerns an incident he had kept private until now.
The story goes back to World Ducati Week 2024, when contact with Marc Marquez sent Bulega into the gravel.
“He called me that evening after the race and apologized,” Bulega reveals. But Marquez went one step further, giving him his own helmet with a personal dedication praising the Italian's speed and riding style.
Bulega had deliberately kept the gesture private to avoid further controversy.
With 52 Superbike victories and a record number of wins in a single season, Bulega is now looking ahead to his next MotoGP challenge.
He explains the differences between the current 1000cc machines and the upcoming 850cc bikes, the importance of aerodynamics and what it really feels like to ride at over 340 km/h.
The conversation also covers Pecco Bagnaia, Toprak Razgatlioglu and Iker Lecuona, alongside his admiration for Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner, whom Bulega jokingly claims could have been fast even riding a table fitted with an engine and two wheels.
An insightful and entertaining interview revealing a more mature Bulega, ready for the next chapter of his racing career.
