Miriam Orlandi, the motorcycle osteopath: "The best part of traveling is meeting people"
From Argentina to Alaska, the Dakar Rally and the North Cape on an electric motorcycle: Miriam Orlandi shares her adventures and her passion for osteopathy
She has crossed continents alone, reached the North Cape on an electric motorcycle and worked at the Dakar Rally helping riders. Miriam Orlandi, known as the Motorcycle Osteopath, returns to Moto.it to share a life in which her passion for motorcycles and her profession as an osteopath have become inseparable.
Her story begins with an extraordinary solo journey from Argentina to Alaska between 2008 and 2010, later documented in her book Io parto. Adventures in Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Australia and New Zealand followed, before she joined the Dakar Rally, first working with the Fantic team and later as an independent practitioner.
But for Miriam, traveling is about much more than reaching a destination. The real value lies in the people she meets and the stories she discovers along the way. Like the little girl she encountered in Bolivia who simply wanted a photograph, teaching Miriam an unforgettable lesson about overcoming prejudice.
Among her more recent experiences is a demanding motorcycle adventure in which she covered around 14,000 kilometers in three weeks, combining long days of riding with osteopathic treatments for fellow participants.
What comes next? A new practice designed to welcome motorcyclists, projects focused on improving riding comfort and posture, perhaps another book and, above all, one dream still waiting to come true: riding around the world. Because, as Miriam explains, her greatest adventures often begin unexpectedly, when she least anticipates them.
