Matteo Salvini: "Tens of millions euro ready for bike guardrails"
The opening ceremony of Eicma saw, among others, the intervention of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini. Who reiterated his commitments to road safety
After reiterating what has been done in recent months with changes to the highway code, safety campaigns and road education in schools, Minister Salvini mentioned 'tens of millions of euro, allocated and not yet spent, to be used for the installation of life-saving guardrails as a priority'. Salvini added that he will personally intervene as early as next week. We shall see.
After the presentation, Nico posed a question to the minister: his commitments go in the right direction, we recognise that, even if for the moment they remain only proposals; but what does he have to say on the subject of smartphones at the wheel, the real cause of distraction and the great scourge of today's traffic? Tightening penalties will serve little purpose, we fear, more is needed....
Here is Matteo Salvini's answer and also an 'exchange of views' with deputy mayor Anna Scavuzzo, on the subject of local police officers. Why have they disappeared from Milan? The lady denies and gives reasons.
