On the eve of the 1993 Dakar Rally, Gilera bids farewell to the Dakar and the rallies, then African. 4 brand new, race-ready Gilera RC 750 Rally bikes remain at the factory. The bike debuted and won at Tunisia and was repeated at the Faraoni. The splendor of the famous "Silhouette" of the House of Arcore seems about to be renewed, but instead, shortly thereafter, the factory will close its doors and the "beasts" from the desert will remain in the corner of the shed of the Racing Department and in the memory of all fans. At Elba here is a good opportunity to talk again about the Gilera myths, two of them above all, Gianni Perini and Silvano Galbusera, two of the protagonists behind the scenes at the Six Days and the Rally-Raid of the origins. They represent an entire, large family linked to the Gilera myth, Mechanics, Technicians, Managers, Pilots. This is just a chapter of Luigino Medardo's story, dominator of Enduro when it was Regularity and character with a singular and contagious balance of humanity.
