Iker Lecuona: "I want to win the World Superbike title in 2027". And about MotoGP...

A season that could mark a defining turning point in his career. Iker Lecuona, speaking to Carlo Baldi for Moto.it, reflects on a year of major achievements, from his first WorldSBK victories to the growing confidence that he can genuinely fight for the world championship.

His move to Ducati has been crucial, but so has his progress in mental preparation and race consistency. After a challenging start to the season, when matching Nicolò Bulega seemed difficult, Lecuona gradually closed the gap, finally finding the perfect feeling with his Panigale V4 R at Cremona.

"This is my bike," the Spanish rider recalls saying when he finally found the technical balance he had been searching for.

The future, however, brings fresh uncertainties: Michelin tires, regulatory changes and increasingly competitive rivals. Yet Lecuona makes his ambitions clear: "My goal next year is to win the World Championship."

What about MotoGP? For now, a return to the premier class is not his priority. After a difficult previous experience, Lecuona wants to focus on WorldSBK, supported by the stability he has found in his personal life, especially following the birth of his daughter.

One thing seems clear: Lecuona's talent has never been in doubt, but now he also knows how to make the most of it.
