Anyone who rides enduro or motocross knows the communication dilemma on the trail: keeping in touch along guided routes or deep in the woods is essential, but mounting a conventional intercom to a dirt helmet almost always means seeing it ripped off by the first low-hanging branch or caked in heavy mud. Unveiled at EICMA, the new Cardo Venture aims to solve this problem once and for all, introducing itself as the world’s first dedicated off-road helmet with a factory-integrated Mesh communication system embedded directly into the shell.
To ensure top-tier passive safety without compromising on-track performance, Cardo developed this project in close partnership with Leatt, building upon their proven Moto 8.5 platform. The composite shell complies with the latest ECE 22.06 safety standard and features the renowned 360° Turbine Technology, a system of energy-absorbing discs designed to significantly reduce rotational acceleration forces transmitted to the rider's brain during high-energy impacts.
The real breakthrough, however, is the complete disappearance of loose wires, external brackets, and adhesive mounts. All electronic components are sealed within the helmet structure, boasting an IP67 waterproof rating that easily handles deep water crossings, heavy downpours, and high-pressure pressure washers. System settings are managed via five rubberized, raised buttons on the left side, which are easy to locate and operate even when wearing thick, wet motocross gloves.
Performance-wise, the Venture features Cardo’s second-generation Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC) protocol, which establishes a self-healing, fluid network capable of linking up to fifteen riders over a range of up to 1.6 kilometers. Voice clarity is delivered through high-definition 40mm speakers developed by JBL, paired with a boom microphone featuring active wind and exhaust noise suppression.
Finished with breathable, washable liners made from antimicrobial Ionic+® fabric, the Cardo Venture will hit the market at a suggested retail price of 799 euros, positioning itself as a premium, ready-to-ride solution for weekend riders, tour guides, and off-road riding schools alike.
