BMW R1300GS
The reasons for great pride
The new GS is even more GS, and two men who played a key role in its development from a technical and stylistic point of view, but who are above all two passionate motorcyclists, tell us so
It happens every ten years and that alone should be enough to make it an exceptional event. We are referring to the generational leap of the GS, the maxi-adventure par excellence, one of the most desired and desirable motorbikes for those who love to travel without limits. This year, however, will not go down in history as a mere evolution but as an epoch-making change in both technology and style. The new R 1300 GS is a completely new motorbike. Redesigned from top to bottom in every detail and every screw to remain true to itself. After trying it out in an initial contact, we wanted to go into this in more detail with two leading figures from the R 1300 GS project. We asked Reiner Fings - Product Manager - and Christian Hahn-Wörnle - Vehicle Design - to tell us more about how the newcomer perfectly embodies the GS spirit and remains, despite the revolution, recognisable in its distinctive features. And ultimately we asked them to answer honestly, as enthusiasts: what makes you proud of this project?
