Andrea Verona, the best after the top, sowing the seeds of a tough winter for his rivals

Andrea Verona, the best after the top, sowing the seeds of a tough winter for his rivals

ndrea Verona, still very much in the hunt for his tenth World Championship title, took a moment to outdo… himself. This time, after six victories at the International Six Days Enduro, he set his sights on the ultimate prize: overall victory. Mission accomplished. A flawless performance. Andrea is the outright winner of the 100th FIM 6Days.

With this extraordinary addition to an already formidable racing résumé, he also led the Italian national team to its second consecutive victory. Following Bergamo 2025, Andrea Verona, alongside Morgan Lesiardo, Samuele Bernardini and Matteo Cavallo, triumphed once again at the Six Days in Portugal. Sensational, isn't it?

Listening to Andrea Verona is always a pleasure. Never predictable, always surprising. He told us how and why riders must manage their energy and emotions during such a long and demanding competition, where dropping out means not only personal defeat but also letting the entire team down.

At the same time, as was easy to see, Verona was fighting on two fronts: one part of him battling for the individual overall victory, the other focused on securing another Six Days triumph for Italy. He explains how these different forms of pressure can coexist and, more importantly, how they can be kept under control.

But there's more. We asked him how a professional already regarded as the benchmark for dedication and preparation can continue to raise the bar, year after year. Andrea Verona has the answer.

And while he's at it, he also throws a couple of stones into the seemingly calm waters of enduro's winter break. He hasn't yet decided which class or which motorcycle he'll race next season, and he believes there are a few things that could — indeed, should — be done to improve both the races and the World Championship itself.

Restless nights ahead for his rivals, promoters and organizers alike. After all, how could anyone afford not to listen to someone like Andrea Verona?
