Alpinestars' lightest self-contained airbag system is designed to be worn over or under a motorbike jacket as an effective and practical choice for touring, urban and light off-road use.

Alpinestars' crash detection algorithm has been developed and refined with millions of miles of riding data and thousands of crashes, allowing the system to accurately assess when to deploy the airbag prior to an impact or other dangerous situation, such as loss of front-end grip or highside.

When Tech-Air 3 detects the onset of an accident, the system inflates the protective airbag in 50 milliseconds. In the event of a direct impact of the motorbike with another vehicle or obstacle, the Tech-Air 3 system is effective for 'first impact', i.e. the system inflates before hitting the vehicle or obstacle against which the motorbike has the direct impact.

The 'first impact' test was performed in accordance with the Dolomiticert protocol, where the airbag was tested in a speed range of 25 to 63 km/h.

Equipped with a water-resistant main frame and waterproof control unit and electronics, the slim, integrated system can also be worn under a motorbike jacket, including an Alpinestars Tech-Air® Ready jacket, or any leather or textile jacket, as long as it has enough space to allow the airbag to inflate
