Alberto Surra: "I dream of a factory Ducati ride, but my ultimate goal is MotoGP"

Alberto Surra: "I dream of a factory Ducati ride, but my ultimate goal is MotoGP"

From Moto3 to Moto2, through WorldSSP and finally into the World Superbike Championship. Alberto Surra, speaking to Carlo Baldi for Moto.it, looks back on a career already marked by challenges, changes and unexpected opportunities.

One of those opportunities came during a holiday in Calabria, when a phone call from the Evan Bros team suddenly changed his plans, bringing him back to racing and eventually opening the door to his WorldSBK debut with Motocorsa.

It was a bold decision, one that many advised him against because of his young age and limited experience. But the gamble has already paid off, with impressive performances including a podium finish at Cremona.

"It was a leap into the unknown," Surra admits, highlighting the importance of team support, his relationship with Ducati and, above all, his personal development. Learning to manage his instinctive riding style has helped him improve, particularly over longer races.

Looking ahead, Surra confirms that he has been in contact with Ducati and makes no secret of his ambition to join a factory team. For now, however, he prefers to take things step by step, building his experience in WorldSBK.

And beyond that lies his ultimate dream: "My dream is to race in MotoGP, but you have to focus on your goals one step at a time."
